mm gauge measure the outside diameter of the old crown. This measurement will indicate the size of the crown needed.

Using a
watch crown gauge find the opening of the crown by trying each crown on the posts until finding the post the crown fits onto.
OR

Use a digital gauge to measure the outside diameter of the case tube sticking out of the case.

Using a digital
watch gauge measure the outside diameter of the threaded portion of the stem. This will indicate the tap of the crown needed. Or look up the movement number to identify the thread tap
or size.
Determine the color of the crown.

Determine flat top or domed top.

Measure the slight cut out indented into the case. This will indicate the size of the crown needed.
