In this guide you will learn how to measure watch crystals whether they are in the watch or missing from the watch completely. We give you two general methods to measuring watch crystals here, one on how to measure the crystal in the watch case, and one on how to measure for a watch crystal that is missing.  You can use these general guides to learn how to measure fancy shaped crystals by noting the diameter of your current crystal and the way similar fancy crystals are measured.  Once you have the right sized replacement, you can learn How to Fit Watch Crystals here.

Remember: Before you throw out the old crystal, make sure that you are positive the new crystal will work. You might need the old sample if you are having trouble getting the correct size, shape, or style.  Additionally, all watch crystals are measured in millimeters.
