Polishing
Polishing
Whether you work on cleaning up
old jewelry or turning castings into highly polished finished jewelry -
polishing is necessary after metal is worn, scratched, nicked and hit. Polishing will restore
the worn gold or silver, platinum to its original shine. There are several types of compounds
that are used in combination with the polishing wheels to get the desired affect for
metals like platinum, stainless steel, gold and silver. Using the right buff
with the right compound will greatly reduce your work to getting the best
polish. Another reminder that can save you money is to always thoroughly clean
off the item that you are polishing before you move to a different polishing
compound to prevent contamination of the buffing wheel so that you are not using
more than one compound per wheel.
