Flat Zinc plates are used in 'black mirror polishing' of steel watch parts. This type of polishing is typically only found on high end watches due to their time consuming process but gives the watch movement a very decorative and refined look. Diamantine powder is used as the abrasive on the steel parts to polish the piece against the zinc plate. Diamantine powder sold separately.
